Dr. Paul Murdock
Hi, I am a clinical and forensic psychologist located in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a doctorate and master's degree in clinical psychology and specialize in couples therapy and forensic evaluation.
As a professional, I have worked in a variety of settings including counseling centers, psychiatric and medical hospitals, and schools. I currently spend the bulk of my time in private practice with individuals and couples and completing forensic assessments. Prior to focusing on my practice, I worked on the DBT team at the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital, taught psychology at Westminster College and was a staff psychologist at a maximum security forensic hospital. I also enjoy my entrepreneurial interests at Murdock Counseling. As a mental health expert and writer, I enjoy providing classes, seminars, and workshops on a variety of health and business issues. This includes marriage counseling and communication, parenting techniques, mood management, motivation, and leadership.
I approach counseling in an warm, open and honest manner. I also focus on using dynamic treatments as well as practical feedback to help individuals effectively achieve their goals. As a father, friend and psychologist, I believe that relationships play a pivotal role in our lives. Therefore, repairing, establishing, and fostering emotionally fulfilling relationships is a vital part of my work.
